Who we are
NovelLush is operated by Henry, an individual developer in the United States. This policy explains how we handle information when you use NovelLush. For questions or privacy requests, use Me → Contact us in the app or the NovelLush support page. You can use the support page without an account, including after account deletion.
Information we process
- Account information: a guest or signed-in account identifier, display name, sign-in provider information and session credentials. When a supported Apple or Google sign-in option is used, we receive the identity information authorized by that provider. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. Provider authorization tokens may be stored securely to maintain or revoke the connection.
- Reading and account activity: saved books, reading position and activity, preferences, unlocked chapters, coin balance, transaction history, subscription status, rewards and in-app messages.
- Purchases: store transaction and product identifiers, dates, subscription renewals, purchase amounts and currency when supplied by the store, refunds and revocations. Apple or Google processes store payments. NovelLush does not collect your payment-card number.
- Support: the subject, message and other information you choose to send, together with our handling of the request. Please do not include passwords or payment-card details.
- Device and service information: IP addresses, request logs, app version, platform and service events needed for operation, diagnostics and abuse prevention. Optional push notifications use a device token, permission state and delivery information.
Reading preferences and account credentials are also stored on your device. A profile image you select is stored locally by the current app. Home Screen widgets use a local shared snapshot of reading information and images; the snapshot does not include your account authentication token. We do not request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone or entire photo library to provide reading.
How we use information
We use this information to operate accounts and reading, synchronize your library, provide purchased access, maintain accurate coin and subscription records, prevent duplicate charges or credits, provide rewards you choose to use, answer support requests and protect the service. Functional reading activity may be used to calculate reading rewards and understand service performance. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The current app does not use a third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDK.
Service providers and disclosures
Our backend uses Tencent Cloud infrastructure in Virginia, United States. Apple and Google provide their respective app stores, payment, sign-in and platform services when used. Push delivery uses the relevant platform notification service. Requests sent from our external support page are handled by our support email provider. Information is disclosed to providers only as needed for these functions. We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, resolve disputes, or protect users and the service. Reading history and wallet records are not public profiles.
Information may be accessed or processed in the United States and other locations used by relevant service providers. We use HTTPS for transmission, access controls and restricted server credentials. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and reading information while it is needed to operate your account and provide access. You can delete your account in Me → Settings → Delete account. After the confirmed deletion completes, sessions are invalidated; reading progress, saved books and relevant preferences, profiles and messages are removed; the account name is replaced with a deleted-account label; and the free-text content of support tickets is cleared. Linked provider authorization is revoked where applicable. If the app reports that deletion did not complete, contact support before assuming the account is deleted.
Account deletion does not erase every record. Limited pseudonymous orders, wallet ledger entries, entitlements, refunds, security audit records and prior reward-claim identifiers remain for purchase reconciliation, fraud prevention, disputes and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Their retention depends on the transaction, unresolved claims and applicable requirements; they are not used to recreate a deleted account. A hashed provider identifier may remain to prevent repeated claims of one-time rewards. Contact us to request a review of retained information. Backup copies are restricted and expire through backup rotation; deletion is not an immediate erasure of every backup. Retention reviews consider applicable recordkeeping duties, unresolved claims and the need to protect transaction integrity.
Deleting an account or uninstalling NovelLush does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel renewal separately in your store subscription settings.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can use a guest account, change reading preferences, manage notification permission in your device settings and delete your account in the app. Enabling optional story updates and offers is your choice; turning off device permission stops notifications on that device. You can contact support to withdraw account-wide notification consent.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, and may object to or restrict certain processing or appeal a response. Use the in-app contact form or the external support page, describe your request and include your account identifier if available. We may need to verify control of the account, but will not ask for your password. We respond within applicable legal time limits and will not deny service merely because you exercise a privacy right. Where we do not sell or share information for targeted advertising, there is no such sale or sharing to opt out of.
Children
NovelLush is not directed to children under 13. Users must also meet the app store's displayed age rating and applicable age requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact support so we can investigate and delete it as required.
Changes
We will publish updated policies with an effective date in the app and on our privacy page. Material changes will be communicated where required. This policy describes NovelLush's practices; a store or sign-in provider's own policy governs its services.
